Call the school at (717) 540-0543 or send an email to christina.luo@thelondonderryschool.org. Tell us your child's age and the days you need. You can also request a tour by filling out the form on our SchoolCues platform. From there, we will schedule a visit so your child can see the classroom and meet the teachers.

Tour the room
See the classroom your child would join and meet the teachers who run it. To request a tour, use the form linked on SchoolCues. A visit is a good way to see the room in action and ask your questions. Prospective students are encouraged to spend a day in the classroom before families decide.

Enroll and settle in
Complete enrollment and plan a first week that suits your child's routine. Teachers and parents work together as partners, and having the same teacher for several years helps children feel safe and comfortable. That stability supports emotional and social growth. Ask us what the first days will look like for your child.
What to have ready
Most families gather a few papers before the first day. You will need enrollment forms, a health form and immunization record, and a list of emergency contacts and people allowed to pick up your child. Ask the office if you are unsure what is needed.
Pack a full change of clothes in case of spills or puddles. Add outdoor gear for the season, nap items if your child rests, and one small comfort object. Label everything with your child's name.
Before the first day, talk with your child's teacher about the drop-off routine. Decide who will pick up and add that person to your authorized list. Tell the teacher how you would like to hear about the day.
The first weeks
The first days often start shorter and build up. A familiar object from home can help a child settle. A teacher greets each child by name at the door. Children usually look for that greeting once they know it.
At pickup, teachers share how the day went, what your child played, and how they ate and rested. Ask questions if you want more detail. Most children settle within a few weeks, though every child has their own pace.

What should my child bring on the first day?

How will I know how my child is doing?
Teachers share how the day went at pickup. You can ask questions then or reach out to your child's teacher directly. Tell the teacher what you would like to hear about.
Do you offer part-time or flexible schedules?
Schedules depend on your child's age group and what openings we have. Call or email us and we will tell you what is available.
What if there is no place right now?
If a place is not open for your child's age, ask us to let you know when one is. We will keep your information on file.
